Late season South Dakota pheasant hunts run from January 10th to March 31st each year. Also, we run a discount during that time frame. The hunting can be quite cold, but the birds are bunched up, move quick and the action can be fast. You will have a hoot hunting with your friends. For the Dakota Hot Spots staff and dogs... it's the most fun for us.
We realize the cold weather and snow is not for everyone during our late season hunts. However, if you ask any guide, South Dakotan or true pheasant hunter, typically they will say this is the preferred season or when it gets cold and snowy. The birds tend to get bunched up, get wiley and are much harder to hunt. However, they can get bunched up and can be a blast to hunt weather depending.
